Wandle continue their great start to the season, by securing points in tight game against a good, strong East Grinstead side.
The game started tentatively, with neither team able to dictate the pace or take control. As the game progress Wandle began to find accuracy with their passing and began to apply pressure in the Grinstead half. Midway through the first half Wandles' pressure paid off, when a ball crossed into the Grinstead penalty area, was not cleared and Che demonstrated bravey and determination in attacking ball, to open his account.
Despite the goal and Wandle beginning to create chances, the game was still tight and could have gone either way. East Grinstead were knocking, however, Wandles defence held strong and were able to deal with Grinsteads attacks. Although being a spectator for the most, Darno was alert and reacted well when needed.
Both teams started the second half well, and tried to gain control of the game, by playing some good football. The next goal was going to decide the game and fortunately it was Wandle who secured the victory. The move started with 'Man of the Match' Adam carrying the ball out of defence, finding Danny in space. Danny skipped past the full back and rifled a shot, which the keeper could only parry into the path of Ifeanyi, to score his fourth in two games.
This was a tough game and some players showed they are more then able to compete in this division. Well done and lets keep on working hard!
The only negative issue on this day was the warm down, please note, warming down is important and is MANDATORY, not an option. Any player not warming down it the correct manner will be dealt with by the club.
REMEMBER - NO TRAINING - NO GAME!!!
