This was Wandles first game of the new season and to be honest the score line didn’t serve justice to Wandle.
A very even match with Wandles keeper Anthony Burnham-Marshalleck only making one really important save throughout the match.
Balgowan’s keeper was the busier of the two making some fine saves especially in the second half.
Wandles undoing was Balgowans long throw which Rory Delap would have been proud of.
Both goals came from the long throw and Wandle found it very hard to deal with these.
Nathan Hollingsworth deserved the Man of The Match award for his defensive and midfield roles.
There were some important pluses to take from this game and I am sure Wandle will be working on the weakness areas in the coming weeks.
Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
