Well done everyone last week on our away game to Croydon Juniors. It was a close match throughout and we kept up the attacks and kept pushing and pushing them. We done very well to keep up the pressure and I feel you all put 100% effort in.

Tom you done very well in goal you kept many shots out and kept on keeping our team in the game. You were on top form. Defence you also played very well. You kept disciplined at times and kept control through the majority of the match. Unfortunately like most teams even a slight lack of concentration can lead to us conceding a goal. But we kept our heads up and continued to play which is always a sign of a determined team. Andy, Adam and Ethan done extremely well they kept going throughout the game and they made some very strong tackles, they also kept the man marking system up well most of the time. Over all it was a good performance.

Midfield we saw Kelvin and Ahmed to start. They had a big job to do as the oppositions midfield always consisted of 3 or 4 players which meant they had to cover each other constantly. Ahmed did extremely well to put some tackles in and block some of the runs from the opposition and Kelvin also did well to keep running left to right and up and down. After a little while Micah came on and had to then take over the role of running all the time to keep the passes going and stop the attacks. Jasiah came on the replace Lewis and then Kelvin pushed forward. Jasiah took over the role extremely well and got stuck in straight away. Gabriel had to cover two roles this Sunday which was defender and midfielder he did well to adjust to both positions so well done.

After a little Liam also came on and started to tackle and pressure the defenders as soon as they were on the ball. Lewis also did this whilst he was on the pitch which meant they could not easily move the ball around the pitch. We had a few good goal scoring chances but unfortunately it just was not our week to convert them.

Overall we played some excellent football. I saw you tried to incorporate our give and go session which we practiced on Saturday. That was good to see because it shows you are trying to improve your football.

See you all Saturday.

Aim for next match:

Defenders: watch for opposition attackers near our goal when we have a goal kick. Make
sure they are covered.

Midfielders: keep up the pressure from their end to ours.

Attackers: try and get into a position just behind or to the side of the last defender so it’s easier to play the ball through.
